Told in 1961, a Cybertronian spaceship lands on the dark side of the moon. Known as the Ark, it was the last ship that escaped from Cybertron was destroyed by war. Piloted by Sentinel Prime, that bring "Pilar", technology that can save Cybertronians once and for all. On earth, the fall of the Ark was detected by NASA, and President John F. Kennedy endorsed the mission to put a man on the moon. In 1969, Apollo 11 landed on the lunar surface to collect samples from The Ark.
Autobots have been cooperating with the United States military, but mostly act independently to stop humans from destroying themselves. During the mission in Chernobyl at the request of the government Ukrianian, Optimus Prime found a fuel cell of the Ark of the Soviet Union tried to use as a resource, resulting in the Chernobyl disaster. Optimus was destroyed in the news that the man lied to the Autobots - knowing as he filled the ship - and launch their own mission to retrieve and revive the Pillar Sentinel Prime. Only five pillars remain on-board the Ark, the Autobots as describing as a means to build a bridge between the two points the mobile space and transport the material through. Charlotte Mearing, Secretary of Defense rushed at this revelation as a pillar and can be used to carry troops to invade the earth.
Sam Witwicky is frustrated with his life, after graduating from college because he could not find a job. He was frustrated and broke up with his girlfriend, Carly Spencer, and close relationship with her playboy boss's accountant, Dylan Gould. Sam finally found a job in the mailroom, and worked in high pressure environments. Jerry Wang, one of his colleagues took an unusual interest in the activities of Sam before revealing himself as a conspiracy theory. He passed the information to Sam about the "dark side of the moon" before being killed by Laserbeak, a condor as Decepticon. After contacting retired Seymour Simmons, Sam realizes that people are connected to space missions the United States and Russia, sudanh become the target of a Decepticon. They were able to find one of a handful of Russian cosmonauts who fled to America after the Soviet space program was closed. The cosmonauts are in possession of photographs taken by Soviet satellites which clearly shows that stockpiled hundreds of Pilar. Sam realizes that the Decepticons will attack the Ark of decades has to trap the Autobots into a trap: can not turn back on their own Prime Sentinel, Sam managed to contact the Autobots and Decepticons to tell the direction of the target, and they managed to escort him to their base. Sentinel later revealed that he had made a deal with the Decepticons and the Autobots and humans both betray, destroy their base and carry out the Ironhide before escaping with Pilar.

Decepticons lay down and waited ready to fire a rocket before getting out to take over the earth. With the help of Gould, they set themselves up in Chicago and fortify the city. Gould said to Carly that the Decepticons kidnapped intend to rebuild Cybertron, strip-mine the earth for human resources and use as slave laborers. To do this, the Decepticons have put Pillar around the world to call their own through the bridge ruang.Sementara Cybertron elsewhere Sentinel uses the Pillars to build a space bridge with the moon. Sam was forced by Dylan Gould - revealed to be an agent of the Decepticons on Earth - Optimus Prime in finding a plan for revenge.
Sam Anger, betrayal, and found the USAF Chief Robert Epps NEST team was disbanded and re-form two-Epps' go to Chicago and rescue Carly. They almost killed before rescued Optimus Prime and the Autobots, who escaped the explosion of the shuttle them, by hiding in one of the booster rocket that separated before Decepticon attack. Sam, the Autobots and advance the NEST in the penthouse to rescue Carly Gould and disable the Master Pillar before Cybertron appeared in the sky. After struggling through the city, NEST took the Decepticon leader Megatron while Carly assured that he will answer Sentinel Prime Cybertron once restored, rather than lead Cybertronians own. Sam could get to Pilar Guru where he faced Gould. Gould is the power by Pilar, that Bumblebee destroys pieces. The connection to Cybertron damaged, and the planets formed in the half collapsed himself. By destroying Cybertron, Optimus and Sentinel at war with each other in the ruins of Chicago. Optimus lost arm and will be killed by Megatron Sentinel before the intervention, have trust Carly. This gives Optimus the opening he needs to reenter the fight, Megatron tore the head and spine from his body before executing the Sentinel.
